A Principal Member of Technical Staff, Michelle Potter currently serves as Project Lead for the Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) project within the Counter-Autonomy and Physical Security Systems Department at Sandia National Laboratories. The UAS team supports the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) Office of International Nuclear Security (INS, NA-21) mission by providing subject matter expertise on the threat and mitigation of nefarious UAS incursions into a nuclear facility’s restricted area.

Michelle has 10 years of experience in International Radiological Security, where she managed several collaborative device hardening projects to improve the robustness of industry and medical devices against radiological material theft. Michelle earned her master’s degree in Radiological Sciences from the University of Lowell in Massachusetts and certification as a Project Manager from the Project Management Institute. In addition to providing Physical Security and Project Management expertise, she has worked as a Health Physicist/Radiological Engineer at Sandia, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Emory University.
