This workshop is a multi-day training and review session focused on strengthening insider threat prevention practices within organizations that handle sensitive or critical operations (for example, nuclear facilities). The emphasis is on two key components of personnel reliability and security: Fitness for Duty (FFD) and Behavior Observation Programs (BOP). In simple terms, fitness for duty means ensuring employees are physically and mentally fit, unimpaired (for instance, not under the influence of substances or extreme fatigue) and reliable to perform their jobs safely and securely. A behavior observation program involves training and encouraging staff and supervisors to observe and report unusual behaviors that might indicate a safety or security concern or an individual in distress. Together, these approaches help organizations detect and address potential insider threats early, before they lead to any harm.
