R&D Systems Research and Analysis

As a senior member of technical staff in the Global Security Research and Analysis Program at Sandia National Laboratories, Shannon Abbott conducts research into areas that fall at the nexus of technology and policy and supports international technical outreach programs.

Shannon also works as a program manager in support of U.S. government in nuclear security, export control, and international safeguards areas. Her experience and skills include developing threat prioritization models, leading and facilitating international workshops, and conducting research across a broad spectrum of global nuclear issues.

Shannon holds a bachelor’s degree in International Relations from Hendrix College, and a Master of International Affairs from the Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M University. She holds additional certifications in Insider Threat Mitigation, the Design & Evaluation Process Outline for physical security, and facilitation.
