Currently a member of technical staff in the International Nuclear Security Engineering organization, Matt Erdman’s work focuses mainly on physical security system design and implementation for high-consequence sites. Matt has designed and tested video systems and intrusion detection systems in the United States and abroad, and has performed Limited Scope Performance Testing (LSPT) of active systems and verification testing of intrusion detection sensors. He also has experience in the installation and field testing of Counter Unmanned Aerial Systems.

Matt served as a sub-group instructor and subject matter expert for the 27th and 29th International Atomic Energy Agency’s International Training Course on the Physical Protection of Nuclear Materials and Facilities and has served as a bi-lateral engagement instructor with subject matter expertise in video systems and intrusion detection systems.

Earlier in his career at Sandia, Matt worked in Supply Chain Risk Management, where he assessed how counterfeit items could be injected into production lines. He also worked in Space Control Applications as a Project Lead for technology demonstrator payloads and simulation environments for small satellite clusters.

Matt holds a B.S. and M.S. in Electrical Engineering both with an emphasis in optoelectronics and material science.
