John Parmeter

R&D S&E, Chemistry

A Distinguished Member of the Technical Staff in Sandia National Laboratories’ Weapons of Mass Destruction Detection and Threat Analysis department, Dr. John Parmeter works in areas relating to physical security and contraband detection, with extensive experience in explosives detection, X-ray radiography, metal detection, and the design of entry control facilities that integrate entry control and contraband detection technologies into physical security systems.

Before joining Sandia in 1990, John earned a B.S.  in Chemistry from the University of California at Berkeley and a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the California Institute of Technology, and performed postdoctoral research in Germany and at Texas A&M University.
