Jerry Brenden

Systems Engineer

A physical security subject matter expert in the Technical Security Systems department, Jerry Brenden currently supports Sandia National Laboratories’ New Mexico and remote sites by conducting research on and testing and evaluation of Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), Access Control Systems (ACS), Interior Sensors, Systems Infrastructure, Video Surveillance Systems, Alarm Communication & Display (AC&D), and Entry Control components.

Jerry leads the Quality Assurance inspection team for all New Mexico site physical security system installations.  He also develops and trains new members to the corporate security teams at Sandia on the standard installation practices for installation, programming and testing of components integrated into the site IDS and ACS.

Before joining Sandia in 2003, Jerry spent 9 years working in private industry, supporting commercial and government security, fire alarm systems, networking, low-voltage specials systems, and systems integration as a licensed journeyman installer, project lead, systems designer, and project manager. Jerry specializes in the areas IDS, ACS, AC&D and entry control and enjoys training end users on the operations of these systems and developing security solutions for complex applications.
