R&D S&E, Cybersecurity

As a member of technical staff at Sandia National Laboratories, Jenna deCastro works in the Energy Security department and specializes in the combination of physical security and cybersecurity with the intent of leveraging Sandia’s experience in both nuclear power and cyber security into a program that informs cyber security for nuclear facilities.

Beyond her cybersecurity work, Jenna has aided on projects focusing on issues pertaining to national security within the National Risk Management Center (NRMC), wargaming, and the impacts of emerging technology on regional stability within South Asia. Aside from this, Jenna serves as a sub-group instructor for the International Training Course on Physical Security for Nuclear Materials and Facilities. This course, provided by Sandia for the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), is designed to train an international audience on the physical protection of nuclear materials and facilities.

Prior to joining Sandia, Jenna worked for a federal contractor from 2010 to 2021 where she operated on, advised, or managed contracts for several U.S. agencies such as DOD, DOE, and DHS.

Jenna holds a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Mary Washington in Virginia and an M.S. in Counter Terrorism and Homeland Security from American University in Washington, D.C.
