Europe Regional Newcomers Workshop Romania

The Romanian National Commission for Nuclear Activities Control (CNCAN) and the United States (US) National Nuclear Security Administration’s Office of International Nuclear Security (INS) will hold an in-person technical exchange on nuclear security infrastructure to support new nuclear power builds from 21-24 August 2023 at the Marriott Bucharest in Bucharest, Romania.

In an environment where threats to nuclear facilities are continuously evolving, new and expanding nuclear power programs face nuclear security challenges.

The purpose of this technical exchange is to provide participants with the opportunity to discuss and share good practices and approaches to nuclear security infrastructure for new builds from an operator and regulator perspective for both traditional larger reactors and advanced reactors.

The technical exchange is open to individuals actively involved in or responsible for new or expanding nuclear power programs.

The technical exchange will be held in English. Attendees will be expected to provide a presentation on their host countries current status, considerations, and lessons learned in the development of their programs.
