ARS Graphic

Developed by the DOE-NE ARS Program, the Advanced Reactor Security Workshop will provide training on physical protection system design and demonstrate efficient designs specifically for small modular reactors and microreactors focused on supporting NRC licensing.  This four-day workshop will held at Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque, New Mexico, from October 24-27, 2022. The workshop will include industry support resources and targeted tours on relevant security technologies. A draft agenda is attached in the Documents link above.

The high-level topics to be discussed are:

  • Monday, October 24: Regulatory Challenges, Security Design Options for SMRs and Microreactors, and Economics
  • Tuesday, October 25: Detection, Delay, and Response Technologies
